Meet the long-awaited addition to the Zao lipstick range: Daring Red Collection!
The collections consist of new Classic Lipstick and new Lip Ink. The two new lip products are daring yet classic. The bright red shade is intense, luminous, and perfect for combining with light eye makeup for a glamorous look.
Eight years ago Zao started the journey to try to devise a way to make a lipstick that is simultaneusly intense red and vegan. As you may know, the bright red colour for lipsticks is traditionally derived from cochineal bugs in the cosmetic industry, who are sadly killed in the process. Unfortunately, these bugs are the only source of this bright red shade which can be fully natural and organic. Zao has tried to invent a pigment that would be derived from plants and still have this bright true red hue to it. However, we had to face the facts: at this time, a fully natural, organic, and cruelty-free bright red shade is not possible.
It is inconceivable for Zao to use living beings, however small, in the production of our lipsticks. Therefore, we made these two products with formulas that are 90% natural and Certified Vegan.
Daring Red Classic Lipstick
This lipstick provides comfortable coverage with a matt finish. At the same time, it hydrates and softens the lips thanks to the organic castor oil, famous for its great beneficial effect on the skin. Enjoy the lasting hold and the ultra-pigmented colour of Daring Rouge lipstick together with a simple or sophisticated look.
For the best results, we recommend treating the lips with Zao Lip Scrub Stick first, followed by Zao Lip Care Oil and either Zao Liquid Lip Balm or Zao Lip Balm Stick before the Daring Rouge Lipstick application. Apply directly on the lips or use Zao Lip Brush 708. To improve the hold, use one of the Zao Lip Pencils before application.

• Organic castor oil: It has a wonderful component, ricinoleic acid, which makes this oil a beauty treatment with astonishing effects already known since ancient times. It purifies, softens, and hydrates the skin.
• Candelilla wax: This natural ingredient is commonly used in lip care products, particularly lip balms and lipsticks, for its moisturizing and protective properties. It is also known for its ability to improve the hold of materials, reducing the need for frequent touch-ups.
Daring Red Lip Ink
If you want an intense ultra-pigmented lip makeup look no further than the Daring Red Lip Ink! Its innovative fine texture hugs the curves of the lips while leaving them feeling bare and providing a lasting hold at the same time. The lip ink is easy to apply and gives a perfect matt finish.
For the best results, we recommend treating the lips with Zao Lip Scrub Stick first, followed by Zao Lip Care Oil and either Zao Liquid Lip Balm or Zao Lip Balm Stick before the Daring Rouge Lipstick application. Before applying lip ink, wring out any excess material from the foam applicator against the rim of the bottle to obtain the right amount for a matte finish. Apply the lip ink by gently stretching it with the foam applicator.
